Hi, I'm Ali Zombie.
I'm a 20-something music journalist for Metal Hammer magazine. I get to pick the brains of some incredibly talented people, job's a good'un.
I'm also Reviews Editor for RockSins, where I review the kinds of alternative material I've known and loved all my life, from punk and metalcore to thrash and hardcore.
I'm an MA History graduate and I wrote my 90-page postgrad thesis on Alice Cooper. That's what I call dedication.
I have ankylosing spondylitis, which means my spine is gradually fusing together. One day, I'll be relatively pain-free and able to manage a normal working life, but the next I'll be on a walking stick or unable to stand whatsoever. It's something I'm slowly getting used to but it certainly won't define me.
I started my blog Zombies Wear Eyeliner in April 2012 with the aim of sharing my experiences with cosmetics just as I wish someone else had for me, but with an alternative, darker twist. Since then, Zombies has evolved from a drugstore beauty review blog into a graveyard full of music reviews, beauty updates, alternative style posts and lifestyle rants. I soon dropped the Eyeliner moniker and reverted to my alter ego, Ali Zombie.
I've had an unconventional life so far but I wouldn't change it for the world.
