Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush - Review and Swatch

When the Boots 3 for 2 on Revlon appeared, I realised I still hadn't jumped on the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain bandwagon, so I had my sights instantly set on Crush, the darkest purple shade in the range. I wasn't quite as enthused by the other shades because they either seemed too light to show up on my super pigmented lips or simply not my shade of lip colour. Crush, however, was the darkest shade of lip I've ever dared to reach for. It came as quite a surprise that I eventually loved it so much, it became my most frequently worn lip colour.

Love At First Bite - At first, I wasn't greatly impressed with the pigmentation because I was applying over a layer of Vaseline and the colour just wasn't transferring evenly on my lips. Completely my mistake though. I love the minty smell and tingly lips though, it definitely feels like I've applied it, but it just doesn't pay off greatly in the colour payoff department. The colour certainly pays off on my toothbrush though.

The Second Coming - This time, I bought MUA's lip liner in Brooding Plum to layer underneath, and this time I was pleased with the pigmentation, but that's thanks to the lip liner. As the balm wears off, it leaves a nice vibrant pink stain on the centre of my lips, which isn't too dramatically noticeable, but I still prefer to reapply on top.

Third Tomb Lucky - The wind where I live certainly gives this balm a run for its money, not five minutes after I'd left the house, I had numerous pieces of leaves stuck to my lips. Gross.

I guess I was just expecting a fully opaque lip, which I didn't get, it definitely looks like I've 'just bitten'/been smacked in the gob with a lead pipe. Not exactly 'kissable' by my toothbrush either. A balm I also didn't really get, but a debris attractor I did. If I'm looking for a translucent dark lip, then I'll reach for it on its own, but otherwise I keep my pencil lip liner handy at all times.

You can find these at Boots and Superdrug for £7.99.

    1. Yeah I wouldn't say they're worth the full price, perhaps on a discount but I'm a wee bit disappointed they aren't quite as opaque as I'd hoped :( xxx

    1. Ooh perhaps I should give it a try! It's only a smidgeon darker than my natural lips so I wonder if it's worth the price? xxx

  4. I've got 6 of these now, I just need Romantic to complete. Red's not a colour I tend to wear often, but I love these so much, I still have to get it at some point. After that, I may even have to try and get the US shades too. I really do like these that much.

    1. Wow that's dedication! I agree, Romantic isn't the most inspiring shade but it's worth it if the product is good! It's a great feeling when you find a product you love so much you need every shade, regardless of whether you like it or not haha! xxx
