My Achilles Heel(s)

I'm going through a mid-life crisis and I've not even reached 21 yet.
Until about 6 months ago, I'd never worn anything but Converses. I couldn't bear to even attempt walking in heels. I teetered around for a few hours in inch-high heels on my school prom, which ruined every photo of me in-motion because I looked like a seasick pirate suffering from vertigo.
But in the past few weeks, I've discovered a love for heels. I partly blame Grav3yardgirl featuring gorgeous black studded Jeffrey Campbell Litas in her outfit videos, but I also blame my recent desire to be a little more feminine in time for the July blogger meetup. I figured it wouldn't be right to wear my worn-out cowboy boots for a nice day out with bloggers I've never met before!
If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you'll have seen enough of these but I wanted to share them on here too!

I found these gorgeous heelless platforms on eBay and knew I had to have them. The seller hung little 'zombie' necklaces on the back of the heels and they make a cute non-invasive jingle when I walk! Perhaps the zombie signs were the main reason I bought these, and heelless shoes always remind me of Lady Gaga, but I actually love walking around in these, they're much more comfortable than I expected, and it's not impossible to walk in them either!

The mid-life crisis continued when I made a trip to TK Maxx and discovered these Iron Fist Filthy Landlubber wedge platforms for a steal at £29.99. The websites I've found them on describe them as wedges, but I'd just call them heels.
I've been lusting after pretty much everything from Iron Fist since I was a teenager, and when I spotted these, I fell in love.
I'm usually a size 5, but I bought these in a size 4 because the 5s were too loose, but these are actually too tight around my toes, but I'd rather them too tight than loosey-goosey and slippy to walk in.

I've promised myself it'll stop here, and I'll buy sensible heels from now on, but I can guarantee when I find some Lita fakes, I'll be on that like a hot pocket. Who says you need to be able to walk in 'em to own 'em?

Do you wear heels? What's your stand on heelless heels?

  1. Ahh those Iron Fist ones are cute, I tried to buy the court version of them once but the website sent me some flats instead so I sent them back.

  2. I love the zombie ones, though I'd be scared to walk in them though xD I don't really wear heels in the UK as I always do so much walking here, I just go around in my Doc Martens everywhere, even attended blogger events with them being incredibly muddy once but oh well lol xD

    1. Haha same here, I'm petrified to walk out of my house wearing them! Ah nobody cares about muddy Docs, they're Docs and they're cute no matter what state they're in! x

  3. I'm seriously impressed that you can walk in those heelless platforms! They are so pretty. I've been lusting after some Iron Fist shoes for absolutely ages but I know I wouldn't be able to walk in them!

    1. Ah but the Iron Fists are so worth the money, especially now I've found them cheap in TK Maxx, I'd buy more if I found them purely because of the price - who said you need to be able to walk in them to own 'em eh? :P x

  4. Oh my goodness! They're scarily high! I love the sparkle and 'zombie' addition to the heel-less shoes, but just can't get to the point where I like anything about the no heel thing. The Iron Fist shoes are awesome though!!

    1. You've got a point there, it's not exactly the most attractive look, I instantly envisage Gaga teetering around, but I knew I had to try them out one day, just to see what they're like! x

  6. I bought some heels a couple of weeks ago, they're really high and have platforms. I usually struggle to walk in anything over an inch high so I don't know what came over me. O.o

  7. I've been wanting a pair of spiked litas for the longest time! I love Iron Fist, and those heels look really awesome. I'm not a bit heel wearer, even though I have a decent collection of them.

    1. Guh one of these days we'll have spiked Litas to stare at and wish we could walk in them! I know what you mean, it's hard to resist buying them even if you don't intend on wearing them often! x

    1. Haha at least I'm not the only one that teeters around in heels I can't walk in purely because I couldn't stop myself buying them! They're too gorgeous to put down! x

  9. NICE SHOES! I have a pair of the Jeffrey Campbell heel-less shoes and they are well-designed so you don't even notice there is no heel. There is enough support at the back of the shoe to keep a person upright!

    1. Aaaaah did you just hear my jaw drop at the mention of real Jeffrey Campbells? Yeah even my ones feel so supportive it's as if I've got more of a heel, not less of one! Optical illusion heels! x
