Lush Imperialis Moisturiser - Review and Swatch

I'm a self-confessed skincare sinner. I very rarely use skincare products, and before you scream 'that's SOOO bad for your skin gurrl', let me let you in on something you may not know - I'm a student. I'm skint.
So when I've got the money to throw about (literally, I take a handful of fivers and throw them about my person, so I feel like I'm in a Bond film), I don't know what skincare to throw my money at. So I went into Lush and came out with the Imperialis moisturiser. Hell, the name sounds cool, right?

Luckily for me, the product was good too. It's a seriously light and fluid consistency but works magic at the same time. I've used this every day since I bought it, about two months ago, and I've still got half a tub left, so a little really does go a long way. It dries fairly quickly so I'm not left waiting forever to put on my foundation in the morning, and it gives my skin a smoother finish that's even saved me using primer.

I have an oily T zone and chin, but the end of my nose and my cheeks are dry, and Imperialis looks after them both at the same time without aggravating one or the other.

Could you get a more gorgeous sounding medley than cocoa butter, tiger lily and orange flower? Well, you could, but I can't smell anything but a faint hint of cocoa butter in the tub.

As for the price, at £12.50 for 45g, it's overpriced to me. There's not a great amount of product, so I find myself using it ridiculously sparingly when really I'd like to lather my face in it. Plus I'm forever losing an awful lot of moisturiser through the lid and its screw-on lid, so the packaging's not great.

While I like the product, I'm a Scrooge so I'm dreading having to repurchase this, but needs must, right girls?

What's your favourite Lush moisturiser?

  1. That sounds lovely! I love Lush products but I never really buy them because so many of them are expensive. :(

  2. I wish Lush was cheaper, I'm still loathe to spend so much on things whether I have income or not. This moisturiser does sound awesome though, damnit.
