Collection Poptastic Palette - Review and EOTD

Testament to my mum's good taste, she picked this up for me in Tesco for a measly 99p!

From the moment I swatched the colours, I knew I'd love the entire palette. The matte shades have a chalky texture which I personally love because it makes them so easy to blend and they stick onto a primer much easier. The purple and the second shimmery yellow are the least pigmented and took a few swipes to create the swatches above, but at least they're buildable.

With my usual priming routine of an MUA eye primer and a Maybelline Color Tattoo beneath, these shadows last a good 14 hour day - just what I want from an eyeshadow.

I expect your jaw will drop when I say that I actually like the sponge applicator that comes with it. Most are limp, lifeless and pretty damn impossible to use, but this one is a lot more structured and precise, so at least it's there as an alternative if I've forgotten to wash my brushes, which happens all too often for a blogger.

The pans are ridiculously small, so I'm glad I didn't pay the full £4.19 price tag, but the pigmentation of most of the shades make it perfectly worth the price.

I'm already looking into the other Collection palettes because this has given such a good first impression, but I think I'll wait for a drugstore offer to ensure I'm getting value for money.

  1. These look fantastic, you definitely wouldn't guess they were Collection! I think Collection's glitter eyeliners are amazing and better than any high end offering :)
