I'm Back!

The title gave it away, didn't it? Ah well, now the secret's out - I'm back blogging! I've finished university until my two exams in May, so I've got more than enough time to get back to writing here as much as I used to.

The above picture is me taking a painfully awkward selfie with my dissertation. I had no idea I was giving my camera the death stare, but everyone around me was looking at me taking it, so I was too socially awkward to smile.

My topic, as you can probably guess if you know me by now, was the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre. I won't bore you with the details, but it's been 3 long years of work on this baby, and when it came to handing it in, all 42 pages printed and bound, I struggled letting it go.

So besides the conclusion to my university work until May, I'm also moving house in less than 2 weeks. Talk about stressful, eh? At least it's kept me on my toes when it came to finishing my uni work on time, but now it's time to pack up and move on.

Now university's out of the way, I'm getting down to some serious job hunting. I'm scouring for graduate jobs and pretty much anything that will take me as I've been unemployed for the entire time I've been at university. I really need some form of income to have any chance at starting my MA in September, so by whatever means necessary, I need to find £4,000 by then. I read articles on a daily basis about how the generation around me don't want to work and that's the sole reason they're unemployed, but in reality, there's people like me that would do any job someone throws at me, purely because I want to work. I'm happy to move wherever work comes, I'm happy to make sacrifices, but it's all in the name of wanting to work.

Anyway, that's what's going on with me lately, but what about you? How's life been treating you lately? Leave me a comment, I'd love to know how you've been!

  1. The "this generation just doesn't want to work" nonsense annoys me, but I'll not rant here.
Massive congrats on finishing your dissertation, that's awesome! And I love your topic, I really need to learn more about Tiananmen Square [I am a terrible person, things like that fascinate me. I spent ages learning about Unit 731 in my spare time.]
Good luck with moving and job finding!

Oh and I love that lipstick, which is it?
