Guess who's back... back again...

I apologise for the shameful lyric title... I really have no justification for that.

Anywho, hello there you lovely readers, it's been such a long time, I've missed you! What've you been up to? Any spangly new things I've missed out on? Oh I could hug you all but my arms just aren't big enough!

Yes, in case you didn't notice, I now have Internet access at home. No more blogging in a uni lecture... Well I'll probably still do that but that's because I'm a bad student, not because I don't have opportunities to do it at home anymore.

So, what have I been up to all this time?

Well, I've obviously moved house, the new place is a lot smaller which makes it a pain to house all my makeup accessibly. The houses next door are being rebuilt so the builders have me up at the crack of dawn each and every day, I've forgotten what it's like to wake up after 10am. If it isn't the builders, it's my next door neighbour's dog who howls and cries as my wake up call. Our heating broke down a few days ago and we spent a handful of nights either freezing or lighting a fire in the fireplace. We also don't have curtains big enough for the front room so we're completely on show to the main road, everyone can see us weeping at the Emmerdale live episode.

But apart from all that, it's growing on me slightly.

As me and mum took a bus to town earlier this week, traffic built up on the road and we were soon stationary. An hour passed and we lost patience, so we decided as we weren't far from home, we'd walk back. So we did. Not a quarter of the way back and the traffic on the opposite side of the road began to move at an alarming pace as we walked in the banking. Considering it's a busy A road, we should've seen that coming, but we didn't, and once we found a suitable, less dangerous opportunity to cross to the stationary side and walk the rest of the way, we discovered how far 3 miles really is on foot. Police who were stopping the traffic because of a crash warned us that the road wasn't suitable for pedestrians (as if we didn't know traffic moving at 70mph wasn't a safe place to walk!) and that we should've been more patient (have you ever spent over an hour on a bus with annoying old women?!). Alas, we got home safely. The end.

I've become hooked on Gangnam Style. Not just the 'oh I like this song' phase, but the 'OHMYGOD HOW DID I LIVE WITHOUT THIS' phase. I changed both my call and text ringtones to 'oppan Gangnam style' and 'eyyyy sexy lady' and I now feel no shame when my phone goes off in public. Loudly. Me and my (now ex-)brother-in-law danced to it at the bus stop for half hour, bewildering drivers and passers-by.

If you didn't notice in that last statement, I'm newly single, but that's not something I'm going to dwell on here. I'm in no way asking for sympathy, however, I'm a tough cookie, I'll be alright. It's just a case of looking after number 1 and prioritising my health and sanity.

As a result of this, I've changed in a lot of aspects, in particular my music taste. I don't have anyone to judge me for what I listen to, so I'm now becoming severely attached to Maroon 5. Not just their new stuff, Payphone for example, but everything. Just A Feeling, Misery - everything about that band give me a purpose and they say things I only wish I could say myself. Adam Levine's voice is haunting and beautiful, and his scenes in the new American Horror Story provoked my return to Tumblr to fangirl my heart out over him! Oh I hope I never grow up.

So, what happens now?

As luck would have it, now I have internet back, I have a mountain of work piling up that takes priority over re-establishing myself in the blogosphere. I have a presentation on the Soviet Union due on Wednesday and an entire Middle English portfolio due the day after. It's going well though, I'm steadily keeping my head above water and I enjoy the things I'm studying at the moment.

As for blogging, I'm going to keep the lifestyle element of this blog alive, as that's the only thing I have time for, along with my Hallowed Hints section as my favourite day of the year grows ever closer! I have a few beauty reviews lined up too, but nothing major as the new releases from my favourite brands such as MUA just haven't inspired me enough. I'll be writing some more personal posts and also movie reviews, because I'm finding myself buying more DVDs than cosmetics lately, and that I can deal with!

So thank you for your patience and I'll be back on a roll as soon as possible, so watch this space graveyard!
