The Damaged Hair Saviour: John Frieda Full Repair Deep Conditioner

It's taken me a long, long time to realise I needed to do something about my horrifically damaged hair. I've dyed it to its limits for a decade and straightened/waved/curled/crimped it to infinity and beyond for just as long.
Haircare has always been one of those things I promised myself 'I'll do it tomorrow'. Tomorrow came around very recently, specifically when Boots had a 3 for 2 offer on all professional haircare, so I grabbed this and trotted off home comforting my poor damaged hair that it would soon be back to its original health.

It's safe to say that, now I've nearly reached the bottom of the pot, this really works. I've tried the Full Body conditioner and the Deep Infusion ends spray from the Full Repair range, so I had no doubts this would work wonders as those two had before.

After shampooing, I leave this conditioner on for about 10 minutes in the shower and when it's rinsed off, I feel like I have a brand new head of hair. No longer a bedraggled, thin mess of hay, it's now a thicker, full-of-life mane. It adds weight to my hair but not an unbearable weight, a healthy weight that I've never truly felt on my hair, and it's a completely welcome change. Some conditioners leave a yucky feeling that you've not washed the product out enough with that way your fringe hideously separates, but this leaves nothing behind but the feeling that my hair has a brand new lease of life.
I've received compliments on the sparkling condition of my hair since starting this treatment a month ago, and I just can't praise this highly enough. I now struggle to keep my locks tight in a hair clip, they're so smooth they just slip right out! Not that I'm complaining, after years of half-dead hair screaming out for help that now finally trusts me to listen to its cries!
Combined with a heat protecting spray such as L'Oreal Elnett's new range, which I'll be reviewing very soon, this conditioner is perfect for defending my hair from everything I've thrown at it for years on end. And at £5.99 in Boots (since I bought this last month it seems to have gone up to £6.29, unusual), it's well worth every single penny!

Have you tried anything from the John Frieda Full Repair range?

  1. I've been using the Root Awakening line-- I like Frieda products quite a bit, and I just love the way this line smells. Yum!

I will definitely have to try this line though. My hair has been feeling the pain our hard water has been dealing out.

  2. I've been using this recently as well, though not leaving it in as long as I should. Even then my hair feels better after a shower. Between this and Aussie my hair will be healthy again one day (I can hope anyway!). Glad you find it works for you too :)

    1. Haha one of these days we'll have normal hair eh? I'm glad it works for you too, proves it's not a placebo effect on me! I'm pleased that no matter how long I leave it on for, it still makes a huge difference to the texture of my hair, and it's cheap too! Bonus! xxx
