My 2012 Beauty Favourites... in March.

Ever had a clear-out of your old draft posts and found something completely finished but for some reason you never published it? Well this is one of those times. I can't think why I never published my 2012 favourites, but it's now March... never too late eh?

I owe so much to the blogosphere from last year, I started blogging in April and I broke myself free of the shackles of the rubbish makeup I was hoarding - I'd never even heard of a waterproof eyeliner, I thought coming home looking like an overworked miner was perfectly normal! So the products I consider my favourites for 2012 have revolutionised my makeup routine, brought me up to speed with trends and such, so I have a lot to be thankful for that the blogging world brought these to my attention.

Makeup
MUA Professional Eye Primer
Before 2012, I had no idea I needed an eye primer, I just accepted that my eyeshadow creased and that was unavoidable. This primer is faultless, it applies evenly and keeps any eyeshadow in place for the entire day.
MUA Undressed Palette
It's no secret that this palette won over the blogosphere last year. A £4 Naked palette dupe, this palette gave me the inspiration I needed to break out some neutral eye looks when before I'd been addicted to black and nothing else. Of course, my most used shade is shade 11 but can you blame me? Shade 12 has also had its fair share of attention this winter with silver-themed looks!
Maybelline The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
I've not tried many other mascaras but that's because I can't fault the Falsies, nothing I've tried comes even close. It's a gorgeous black that really banishes my blonde lashes, it lengthens and volumises, and best of all it stays put for the entire day!
Collection 2000 Glam Crystals in Hustle
My absolute staple eye product in the latter months of 2012, this eyeliner is absolutely beautiful for festive looks and the glam rock tones I'm recognised for.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer
Where on earth would I be without this? I've repurchased at least 8 times since I first found out about this when I started blogging, and I just can't fault it.
MUA Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
This £1 gem DOES. NOT. BUDGE. And on top of that, I haven't had to repurchase since I bought it early in 2012, it's lasted so well even though I use more eyeliner than Alice Cooper.
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Eternal Silver
The entire Color Tattoo range would be included in my 2012 favourites, as it was the first product which I bought the entire colour range. Eternal Silver is my favourite because I use it under my undereye concealer and it keeps it from creasing or budging for the entire day.

Hair
Babyliss Wave Envy
Wavy hair was big for me in 2012, and I loved every morning of only spending 15 minutes in front of the mirror using this waver. It heats up quickly and takes about 8 seconds to give the most defined wave on the hair. It also comes with a heat resistant mat that has proved so useful for wrapping around when storing away.
Babyliss Professional Ceramic Crimper
Every Babyliss product I've owned has been beyond amazing, and the same goes for this crimper, which I've used every day since Halloween 2012. While crimping obviously takes up a lot of time in my morning routine, it's not a chore with this crimper because it heats up fast and crimps beautifully in under 5 seconds. The temperature adjustment dial on this is handy too, if you're not in desperate need of tight style and volume, knock it down a notch.

Nails
Barry M Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener
My nails have significantly improved in strength since I started using this, even the incessant tearing at the end of the sellotape reel around Christmas didn't split a single nail! It dries wonderfully quickly too, so this will definitely be getting so much use in 2013.
Nails Inc Portobello
I was in love with this beauty all through summer and I still have it on my toes! It's a beautiful neon coral that really glows in that lovely summer dusk light... really missing summer now!
Barry M Foil Effects Silver
By far my favourite nail polish OF ALL TIME. It's a beautiful semi-matte texture and the shimmering colour is eye-catching and perfect all year round.

So that was it... if you can cast your mind three months back to the end of 2012 and forget it's actually March now! I promise next time I won't be so horrendous with my draft posting!

  1. I have the mascara, but I darne't use it. I have fallen in love with all of my others, it is sitting, unopened in my make up bag. If it's a favourite, I should try it! I also adore Nails Inc, I have a wine colour and it is faultless! :) x

    1. Oh it's BEAUTIFULLLLLLLL, I can't use any other mascara now! I definitely love Nails Inc, admittedly their glitters/sprinkles aren't the greatest after they've aged a bit but who can blame them? x

  3. Colour Tattoos are amazing, I very quickly fell in love as soon as I bought some and now I'm wondering what the hell was wrong with me that it took me so long! I love your favourites, even if it is a bit late =P

    1. Haha don't worry it's sometimes better to fall for a hype later than others, at least you get the advantage of knowing which shades are good/bad before buying! x
