The Cheap Crypt: Aapri Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Pillows

Welcome to The Cheap Crypt: Enter For A Bargain!
If you see this banner, you'll know there be treasure abound. As you might know, this blog is dedicated to drugstore and penny-saving products, so keep an eye out for The Cheap Crypt in future to save yourself some precious pounds.

It's a good job I'm not on YouTube, because I would never be able to pronounce this brand... is it 'ah-pree'? 'Ahpry'? Anyway, you'll find these in Poundland pretty much anywhere, I haven't come across a store you can't find them in.

The box says: 'Aapri Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Pillows contain natural apricot extract and are infused with a mild cleanser to exfoliate and cleanse; instantly removing dirt, grease and dead skin cells to reveal refreshed skin.'

Why is 'exfoliate' so hard for me to type? I'm spelling it wrong every time and I don't know why!

The instructions are pretty straightforward: just add water, scrub away! Pay close attention to oily areas of your face such as T zone, nose, whatever problem areas you may have.

What is it about fruity scents that persuade us a product works better because it smells heavenly? I don't have the answer to that, but these little pillows certainly sweep your senses with apricot goodness.

The way I tell that a product is working on my skin is by how I initially develop a tidal wave of breakouts (a last stand for my generally rubbish quality skin) then calms and allows the product to work its magic.

These little pillows might feel a little scratchy on the blank side, but once the apricot beads glide across your face, you can already feel them working.

I usually need 1 and a half face wipes to fully remove all of my daily makeup (I think you might have noticed by now that I wear more eyeshadow than the average Vegas showgirl), but only one of these pillows are needed, even though it is one poor blackened pillow afterwards!

After using these every day for a week, my skin was literally squeaky clean. I wouldn't recommend using any exfoliating products every day because it may well turn your oily skin dry, one extreme to the next isn't good!

So overall, I'm loving these especially for the price, at £1 for a good month's supply, you can't go wrong!

Have you tried these yet? What's your favourite exfoliating product?

  1. This looks lovely! I've never really exfoliated because the products can be quite expensive so to take my make up off I generally use wipes. But these look really nice, I have to check them out! :-)

    1. Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking when I picked these up, I was surprised how well they worked for the price, wipes are much more useful when you're half-asleep and need to remove makeup but these are really good for those days when you have spare time to work with! Ali xx

    3. Well I found these in Poundland so they should be best found there, but I've seen them in Superdrug before if that helps! Ali xx
