The Metal Hammer Golden God Awards are being hosted on my birthday this year, is that not enough of a reason for someone to sneak me in?
The Golden Gods are the biggest event of the year for the genre, and with performances from Motorhead, Airbourne, Five Finger Death Punch, Coal Chamber and Paradise Lost, it's going to be a hell of a night.
Some go on holiday, some go to a festival - I have nothing going this summer, as I was running low on funds to go to Download again, so the Golden Gods would be the highlight of my year, that is, if I was going. Maybe one year I'll get a press pass, but until then, why not show you what I would wear if I was going?
As this year's Golden Gods logo features some fierce nose art, this Hell Bunny Dolores dress has a gorgeous zombie pin-up print. Back when I started Zombies Wear Eyeliner, I wanted my banner to feature a zombie pin-up from the nose art you see on the side of WWII planes, but I can't draw for the life of me, so I never got around to it. This print looks gorgeous both up close and from a distance, so it would definitely act as an ice breaker in any social setting, let alone at the Golden Gods.
I already own the Hell Bunny Casino dress and it's safe to say I adore their styles and the dresses are fitted so nicely, they flow beautifully when you walk and they're built to last, which makes a change with alternative fashion nowadays.

Who said you can't find gorgeous jewellery on a budget? While I'm still trying to get my mind around the physics of wearing the hand chain, I've fallen in love with the excess spiked crosses. And Love From Misbehave have stolen my heart with this regal crossbones necklace, the more glitz the better!

Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel from Machine Head won Riff Lord awards,
And best of all, my favourites Ghost won the Breakthrough Artist.

I think because of the gig I'd stay clear of dresses personally, as it's such a big night with all these metal bands in the room, I'd probably just wear the usual doc martens, leather skirt, leggings + band tee and throw in the bullet belt cause why not? XD
ReplyDeleteI've never considered going to the golden globes before though, always just looked at festivals. Doubt I could afford it but how much are tickets? I would love to see Paradise Lost again >.<
I think the dress is lovely - definitely perfect for the Golden Gods.
ReplyDeleteOMG COAL CHAMBER IS PLAYING! I thought they had broken up but I guess they are playing a few shows these days. I pretty much listened to nothing but Coal Chamber when I was in high school.
