Halloween's coming...

So I need your help! I'm determined to not let Halloween fly by as I did last year. I promised the world, DIY posts, makeup tutorials, everything, and I didn't deliver. For that, I can only apologise and make up for it this year. So I'm starting my planning early, as it's August I've got plenty of time to schedule posts if I'm too busy around the actual date with university and the like.

I'm thinking of concentrating a lot on more wearable inspired makeup looks this year rather than face paint. Not everyone has the courage to wear a full face of paint like I do, even on Halloween, so I'll be posting a good few spooky looks that don't take an awful lot of time and effort. As usual, every look featured will be made from high street or drugstore products, so you're not forking out this Halloween!

If you have any special requests, for example if you're going to a party as a specific character and need some inspiration for a DIY outfit or makeup look, feel free to drop me a tweet, I'd love to help in some way!

I'll be putting my hand to a few DIY decorations this year too, all thanks to a few Pinterest discoveries which have made it impossible for me to let this Halloween go by without carving a pumpkin for the first time. Yes, I know, I'm weird, I've never carved one before, but that's mainly down to the fact I can't be trusted with a sharp knife for fear of leaving with a few less digits.

All photos found on Pinterest, pinned on my Halloween board.
Crumbled Oreos and gravestone biscuits on top of chocolate mousse in shot glasses - this could be a fantastic budget treat!

It's the little things, right? Little paper pumpkins like this will be easy to make, which is definitely the kind of simplicity I need when trying to work around university deadlines.

We've all got toilet rolls kicking round, and they deserve a bit more love at this time of year.

If I don't find myself all that able with a carving knife and a pumpkin, at least I can resort to this wicked alternative!

I'll also be making a personal tribute on Dia De Los Muertos, because I feel like I should do something more meaningful this year rather than the same old calaveras face paint. Death is a concept that intrigues me no end, so I'd love to address it properly at the right time of year.

What are you doing this Halloween?
