Hallowed Hints - Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides

I can't believe it's taken me this long to recreate Andy's makeup, but as Halloween crept up on me a little faster than I expected, I found myself doodling on my face late at night, so I apologise for the bad lighting.

I've been a huge fan of Black Veil Brides for a few years now, and seeing them at Download 2012 cemented my appreciation for them as they worked through the crowd's extremely negative response to perform just as well, if not better than before. Andy's an expert at dodging bottles and coming out of it stronger than ever, he even started taunting the haters by rallying us fans against them by just ignoring them. By the end of the set, I felt so much more sure of my devotion to them as a band that fights convention and negativity by strengthening the people who appreciate their music.

Black Veil Brides make music the way I think all bands should - you can hear their dedication to their work throughout each album, each musician puts his heart and soul into his work, and you only have to listen out for Jake Pitts' guitar to work that out. Naturally talented musicians, inspiring lyrics, individual looks and a solid fan base - what else could you want from a band?

Anyway, onto the makeup. I was surprised how easy a look like this becomes when you use gel eyeliner instead of face paints, although it's not the easiest thing to take off your face at the end of the day. I've learnt my lesson now though - don't use gel liner that clams to stay on all damn day, because believe me, it will stay on all damn day.

Angled brushes are your friends when it comes to these thin lines. I'm not the queen of symmetry, that's for sure, but an angled brush makes a straight line look effortless. I'd wear these feathered black eyes every day if I could!

Products used:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Oily/Combination Skin in Ivory
